Chairman's update

The Board has endeavoured this autumn to improve the look and functionality of the Society's website. One of the challenges of our organisation is to physically do things that reach all society members, attract new members, and deliver something for everyone – anywhere in Finland! We believe that the website will provide better "inclusiveness" in the Society. The goal is to have an in-depth informational site about Finnish and Canadian points of interest, featured initiatives, and many useful links.

We also look forward to planning a limited number of special events throughout the year, like this year's "Pikkujoulu", to bring members together and celebrate the season! Besides Helsinki as the focus for events, we are seeking to plan an event with the help and support of local members from other regions.

Finally, I am very pleased with the work, contribution, and dedication of the current Board members. They deserve a lot of thanks for their efforts and perseverance in balancing careers, family, and the myriad of things that fill our lives! Again thanks!
